eFootball raises its PC requirements: GTX 960 minimum, DirectX 12 and 100 GB
Konami is raising eFootball's PC requirements with the next update: the minimum moves to a GTX 960 or R9 380X, the recommended to a GTX 1660 or RX 580, and it now needs DirectX 12 and 100 GB. Here is what changes and how your GPU grades.

Konami announced today, October 15, that eFootball will revise its minimum and recommended PC requirements on both Steam and Xbox on PC. The change comes with the game’s next update, and the date has not been announced yet. If you play this free soccer game on an older PC, check your hardware now: the minimum moves from a GTX 660 Ti to a GTX 960, the game starts asking for DirectX 12, and the storage requirement rises from 70 to 100 GB.
New eFootball PC requirements
Here is the new list from Konami’s official announcement:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 / AMD Radeon R9 380X | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 580 |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-2300 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | Intel Core i7-9800K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 8 GB | 8 GB |
| Storage | 100 GB | 100 GB |
| DirectX | 12.0 | 12.0 |
| OS | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
Konami’s announcement does not mention the operating system, so that row comes from the current Steam page. Steam has not been updated yet and still lists the old requirements. Konami says the requirements on its official site will be changed before the update.
What changes compared with the current requirements
- Minimum GPU: from GeForce GTX 660 Ti / Radeon HD 7790 to GeForce GTX 960 / Radeon R9 380X.
- Recommended GPU: from GeForce GTX 1060 / Radeon RX 590 to GeForce GTX 1660 / Radeon RX 580.
- CPU: the minimum drops the AMD FX-4350 and adds the Ryzen 3 3100, while the i5-2300 stays. The recommended moves from i5-7600 / Ryzen 5 1600 to i7-9800K / Ryzen 5 3600.
- DirectX 12: now listed at both tiers.
- Storage: from 70 to 100 GB.
- RAM: still 8 GB.
Konami asks players to make sure ahead of time that their device meets the new minimum. If your PC uses one of the parts leaving the list (GTX 660 Ti, Radeon HD 7790 or FX-4350), check it first. The same goes for a nearly full drive: you need 100 GB free.
How your GPU grades today
canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement, and for now they use the one on Steam (GTX 1060 / RX 590), not the new one. Against that bar, every popular GPU on our list clears the minimum:
- C (Tight): the GTX 1650 and the RX 580.
- B (Solid): the GTX 1060 6GB.
- A (Smooth): the GTX 1660 Super, the RTX 3050 and the RX 7600.
- S (Overkill): the RTX 3060 Ti, the RTX 4060 and the RTX 3070.
One odd detail: the RX 580 grades C against Steam’s recommended today, but it appears in Konami’s new recommended list.
On Steam Deck, Valve rates eFootball as Playable. The details are on the eFootball Steam Deck page.
Can your PC run eFootball?
Here is how your PC grades against eFootball and Konami’s two previous PES games:
| Game | Rec. GPU score | Rec. RAM | Min. RAM | Your PC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | 9,500 | 8 GB | 8 GB | ? |
| | 5,350 | 8 GB | 8 GB | ? |
| | 5,350 | 8 GB | 4 GB | ? |
