Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School has a release date: it launches November 5 on Steam, according to the official announcement posted on October 13, which also brought the PC requirements. It is the sequel to the escape room game that, per its store page, over 4 million players enjoyed. This time the whole campus works as one big puzzle room, and you can explore it solo or in co-op, online or in splitscreen. Two details matter for PC players: it asks for Windows 11 and 16 GB of RAM even at minimum.
Escape Academy 2 PC requirements
These are the requirements on the Steam page, matching the announcement:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti (4 GB) | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (4 GB) |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.80GHz | AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 5 GB | 5 GB |
| OS | Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
The minimum uses DirectX 11 and the recommended uses DirectX 12. Storage is modest at 5 GB. Memory is the demanding part, because the minimum already asks for 16 GB of RAM. If your PC has less, you are below what the studio lists, even if your graphics card has headroom. Both columns list only Windows 11, which is worth noting if you are still on an older version.
Which graphics cards run it
The GPU minimum is low: every popular card we checked clears it. The difference shows up against the recommended requirement, which is what canirun grades against (assuming 16 GB of RAM):
- GTX 1650: clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended. It gets in, but it will struggle.
- GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: clear the minimum and grade D against the recommended.
- RTX 2060, Arc B580 and RX 7600: land at C, tight between the minimum and the recommended.
- RTX 3060 and RTX 4060: meet the recommended with a B. The RTX 3060 is the exact card the studio lists.
- RTX 4070: grades A, with plenty of margin.
If your card sits on the border, see what else the RTX 2060 or the GTX 1650 can run.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. So for now we only have our spec-based estimate: it gives the Deck an F and puts it below the published minimum. Once Valve rates it, you will see it on the game’s Steam Deck page.
The announcement also confirms the studio is working on two DLC adventures for after launch, and the game adds an optional No-Timer Mode so you can puzzle at your own pace.
Can your PC run Escape Academy 2?
Here is how your setup grades against the recommended requirements:
| Game | Rec. GPU score | Rec. RAM | Min. RAM | Your PC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | 17,050 | 16 GB | 16 GB | ? |
