THE DEAD WE KNEW: Open World Survival, the open-world zombie survival game from MAY19 STUDIO, enters Steam Early Access today, October 22. It arrives with more than 250,000 wishlists. You can play solo or in co-op with up to 4 players, building a shelter and growing food through a 24-hour day and night cycle. Check the requirements before you jump in: the minimum GPU sits higher than many players expect, and the recommended spec asks for 24 GB of RAM.

Both tiers use DirectX 11. The listing does not name a processor, only that it must be 64-bit. For now the game is Windows only, with no Mac or Linux version.
Which GPUs run it?
We checked the requirements against popular graphics cards. These four cases show where the line falls:
- GTX 1660 Super: falls short of the minimum. It is a very common card, so check this before you buy.
- RTX 3060: clears the minimum but not the recommended. Measured against the recommended, it grades C (Tight).
- RTX 4060: clears the recommended, and measured against the recommended it grades C (Tight).
- RTX 3070: clears the recommended with a B (Solid).
Keep memory in mind. canirun grades assume 16 GB of RAM, and this game’s recommended spec asks for 24 GB. With 16 GB you clear the 12 GB minimum, but you sit below what the studio recommends.
What about the Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. Our estimate, based only on the specs, gives it an F and puts it below the minimum. Treat that as an estimate until Valve tests it. You can follow it on the game’s Steam Deck page.
