Trash Day, the physics co-op raccoon game for up to 6 players, launches today on Steam. It asks for a GTX 1650 and 8 GB of RAM at minimum and an RTX 2060 with 16 GB recommended. See which GPUs run it and how the Steam Deck looks.

Trash Day, the physics co-op raccoon game from Off by One Games, launches today, October 13, on Steam. It supports online co-op for up to 6 players: you break out of Animal Control, steal a wagon, load it with the finest trash you can find and haul it across six areas to Raccoon Paradise. If you played the demo, you only saw one of those areas: the full game adds five more, new obstacles and a full soundtrack. It comes from a small team with over a decade of experience working together on Rocket League, and the good news for your PC is that it asks for little: a GTX 1650 clears the minimum.

Trash Day PC requirements

These are the official requirements from the Steam page:

MinimumRecommended
GPUGTX 1650 or RX 570 (4 GB VRAM)RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT (6 GB VRAM)
CPUCore i3-10100 or Ryzen 3 3100 (4 cores / 8 threads)Core i5-10400 or Ryzen 5 3600 (6 cores / 12 threads)
RAM8 GB16 GB
Storage5 GB5 GB
OSWindows 10 64-bitWindows 10/11 64-bit

The minimum targets 1080p at Low settings; the recommended targets 1080p at High settings and 60 fps. It runs on DirectX 11 and needs a broadband connection. It is Windows only: there is no native Mac or Linux version.

Which GPUs run it

Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum. The difference shows up in the grade, which we measure against the recommended requirement with 16 GB of RAM:

  • GTX 1650, GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: they clear the minimum but grade D (Struggles). They run it with little headroom, so think Low settings, which is what the minimum targets. If you own a GTX 1650, it is exactly the card the game lists as its entry point.
  • GTX 1660 Super, RTX 3050 and Arc B580: C (Tight), between the minimum and the recommended.
  • RTX 2060, RTX 3060, RTX 4060, RX 6600 XT and RX 7600: B (Solid). They meet the recommended 1080p High target. The RTX 2060 is the card the studio itself names.
  • RTX 3070, RTX 4070 and RX 9070 XT grade A (Smooth), and the RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 grade S (Overkill).

Watch your memory: the minimum is 8 GB, but the recommended profile calls for 16 GB. If your rig is modest, our low-end PC games list has more options that run well.

What about the Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate is an F, below the game’s minimum, but that is all it is: an estimate from the specs, not a test on the device. You can see the details on the Trash Day Steam Deck page.
