WARDOGS Season 02 PC requirements: which GPUs run it as players flood back

WARDOGS is packed again. Season 02 went live on October 15 with Update 0.2.0, and BULKHEAD’s shooter, in Early Access since September 10, now has 270,180 concurrent players on Steam. Whether you’re jumping in for the first time or coming back after Season 01, it’s worth checking that your PC can handle hundred-player matches on a destructible map. The bar is higher than it looks: 16 GB of RAM even at minimum.
What Season 02 brings
Here are the main additions from BULKHEAD’s patch notes:
- Four new weapons: the TCX-SPR assault rifle, the PP-19 Bizon SMG, the Evo-3 Ultra LMG and the M14 marksman rifle, plus new attachments.
- Molotov: a thrown incendiary that leaves fire on the ground and damages anyone standing in it. It can also burn destructible foliage and is affected by rain.
- The infrared range finder now runs on batteries. Each one lasts around 80 seconds of active use.
- Helmets: the Level 4 helmet now muffles audio, restricts your field of view and fogs over when you sprint.
- Four new vehicles, including the Wolf-110, a fast, light wheeled transport.
In its Season 02 preview, the studio said the game has passed 3 million sales. According to PCGamesN, BULKHEAD has already acknowledged player frustration with the Blue Team bonus and fast Driver progression this season, and laid out how it plans to fix them.
WARDOGS PC requirements
These are the requirements from the Steam store page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1660 or RX 590 | RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT |
| CPU | Core i5 8600 or Ryzen 5 3500 | Core i7 12700K or Ryzen 7 5700X |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 50 GB | 50 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
The minimum targets 1080p Low at 60 fps with upscaling. The recommended targets 1440p Medium at 70+ fps native, or 4K Medium at 60+ fps with upscaling. The game is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version.
Which GPUs run it
Among popular cards, the GTX 1650, the GTX 1060 6GB and the RX 580 fall below the minimum. The GTX 1660 Super gets you in: it clears the minimum, as do the RTX 2060, the RTX 3050, the RX 6600 XT and the Arc B580. All of them grade D against the recommended requirement, though, so expect them to struggle.
The RTX 3060, the RTX 3060 Ti, the RTX 4060 and the RX 7600 grade C against the recommended: playable, but tight. To meet it you need an RTX 3070, an RTX 4070 or an RX 9070 XT, which grade B. The RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 reach A.
These grades assume 16 GB of RAM, which is exactly what the game asks for. With less memory you fall below the minimum even if your GPU is strong enough.
What about the Steam Deck?
Valve rates it Unsupported. Our spec-based estimate, which is not a real-world test, gives it an F and puts it below the minimum. See the WARDOGS Steam Deck page for details.
Can your PC run WARDOGS?
Here is how your setup grades against the WARDOGS recommended requirement:
| Game | Rec. GPU score | Rec. RAM | Min. RAM | Your PC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | 21,750 | 16 GB | 16 GB | ? |
