Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5: DLSS 4.5, FSR 3 upscaling gone and what changes for your PC
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 hits PC and Mac today. It adds DLSS 4.5, an FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle and ray tracing optimizations, and drops FSR 3 upscaling. Here is what changes, what to check in settings and which GPUs clear the requirements.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5, called Edgerunners 2, arrives today, October 22, on PC and on Mac through Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store. The Mac App Store version gets it in the days that follow. It brings quests, outfits and a new playstyle that lets you dual-wield pistols and revolvers. CD Projekt Red also changed several things that affect how the game runs on your machine: it adds DLSS 4.5, reshuffles the FSR options, adds a toggle for FSR Anti-Lag 2 and announces performance optimizations, with improvements aimed specifically at ray tracing.
What changes on the technical side
According to the official patch notes:
- DLSS 4.5: support for up to 6X Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and the 2nd Generation Transformer Model.
- FSR: FSR 3 upscaling is no longer included. FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain available.
- FSR Anti-Lag 2: now has its own toggle in settings.
- Performance: various optimizations, including improvements specifically for ray tracing. The notes give no fps figures.
- HDR: more accurate colors, brightness and contrast on compatible displays.
- Mac: support for MetalFX Frame Interpolation.
- 3D monitors: glasses-free 3D on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, with a Motion Comfort setting.
The patch also fixes an issue where enabling Film Grain had no effect. And it adds cross-platform mods powered by mod.io, which you can browse and install from the in-game menu on PC and Mac.
What to check after updating
If you played with FSR 3 upscaling, that option is gone. You will need to pick one of the options that remain: FSR 2.1, FSR 4 or FSR 3.1 Frame Generation. It is also worth looking at the new FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle. CD Projekt did not publish recommended settings or performance numbers, so the only way to see what the ray tracing optimizations do for you is to try them in your own save.
The notes do not mention any change to the system requirements.

Both tiers require DirectX 12, and an SSD is mandatory.
By our data, the GTX 1060 6GB clears the minimum but struggles against the recommended (D), and the GTX 1650 falls short of the minimum. The GTX 1660 Super, RTX 2060 and Arc B580 clear the minimum and are tight against the recommended (C). The RTX 3060, RTX 4060 and RX 7600 meet the recommended (B). The RTX 4070, RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT run it smoothly (A). All grades are measured against the recommended requirement, with 16 GB of RAM.

Mac and Steam Deck
On Mac, the Steam page lists an M1 with 16 GB of RAM and macOS 15.5 or later as the minimum, and an M3 Pro with 18 GB as recommended. Both tiers need 92 GB of free space. On Steam Deck, Valve rates it Verified.
