  4. Can your PC run RuneScape: Dragonwilds?

RuneScape: Dragonwilds left Early Access with its 1.0 release on September 15, 2026. It came to PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and the Jagex Launcher, and also to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. On Steam it costs $29.99 and has 15,009 players online right now. The first weeks brought patch after patch, mostly for corrupted saves. The 1.0.0.7 patch is being processed on platforms, and Jagex has opened its regular check-in survey. If you are thinking about jumping in now, it is worth checking how well your PC handles it first.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds PC requirements

These are the requirements from the Steam store page. The game is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version.

MinimumRecommended

RAM8 GB16 GB
Storage25 GB25 GB
OSWindows 10 64-bitWindows 10 64-bit

Both tiers require DirectX 12. The recommended tier also lists a broadband internet connection.

Which GPUs can run it

We checked the most common GPUs against these requirements. Grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM:

  • GeForce GTX 1650: falls short of the minimum and grades F.
  • GeForce GTX 1060 6GB: this is the card the minimum asks for, so it clears it. Against the recommended it grades D: it runs, but it struggles.
  • GeForce RTX 2060: clears the minimum and grades C. It sits between the minimum and the recommended, so it is tight.
  • GeForce RTX 3060: meets the recommended and grades B.

If your card sits near that line, its page shows what else it handles well: GTX 1060 6GB, RTX 2060 or RTX 3060.

Steam Deck and launch status

Valve rates the game Playable on Steam Deck. canirun’s comparison gives a different result: the Deck’s GPU does not reach the minimum on the Steam store page and grades F, which means it sits far below the recommended. These are two different readings, and ours is based only on the published requirements. If you plan to play it there, check the details on the Dragonwilds Steam Deck page.

Before you buy, keep in mind where the patches stand:

  • 1.0.0.4 fixed world saves becoming corrupted when exiting a game session.
  • 1.0.0.6 brought crossplay back for Epic Games Store players.
  • Jagex says work on saves that were already corrupted is still ongoing.

If you hit bugs, the studio asks players to report them in its official Discord. The 1.0 check-in survey is open until 7AM GMT on October 8, 2026.
