Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest launches tomorrow and recommends an RTX 3070

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, the adventure RPG based on the Warrior Cats book series, launches tomorrow, October 23, on Steam for $29.99. It is developed by Bamtang Games and published by Trailmark Games, and today the team thanked players for passing 200,000 wishlists. The surprise for PC players is the spec sheet: the game needs only 4 GB of storage, but it recommends an RTX 3070 or RX 6800 XT plus 16 GB of RAM.

For context: you create your own Warrior Cat, explore the territories of the four Clans and fight turn-based battles of up to 3 versus 3. Pre-purchase is open for the base game and the Feral Edition, and buying early gets you the Purrfect Look Pack, with extra elements for the cat creator.

Which GPUs make the cut

We checked the requirements against the most common GPUs in our database. Grades are measured against the recommended requirement, with 16 GB of RAM:

• Clear the recommended: the RTX 3070, RTX 4070 and RX 9070 XT grade B. The RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 grade A.
• Between minimum and recommended: the RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 4060 and RX 7600 grade C. They run it, with little headroom.
• Clear the minimum but will struggle: the GTX 1660 Super, RTX 2060, RTX 3050, RX 6600 XT and Arc B580 grade D.
• The GTX 1060 6GB is the minimum card itself: it clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended, so expect low settings.

Below the minimum sit the GTX 1650 and, notably, the RX 580. Even though the RX 580 is listed in the official minimum, it scores a bit lower than the GTX 1060 in our benchmarks, so canirun places it under the minimum.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate gives the Deck an F, so treat that as an approximation from the numbers, not a verdict, until Valve tests it. You can follow it on the game’s Steam Deck page.
