Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest promises a mouse and keyboard update on PC

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest wrapped up its first weekend on sale with the studio responding to complaints from PC players. Bamtang Games said on Steam that it received reports of control issues and that it will release an update to improve the mouse and keyboard experience in the coming days. If you plan to play that way, it is the first thing to know before you spend $29.99. On October 23 we told you which GPUs run it and how it does on Steam Deck. Right now it has 2,030 concurrent players on Steam.

What the studio said about the controls

There were two official posts on Steam:

• October 23: the studio said it received concerns about control issues, is actively looking into them and will share updates.
• October 24: it thanked players for their feedback during launch weekend, said it heard requests for better mouse and keyboard support, and promised an update “in the coming days”.

There is no specific date and no detail yet on what will change. If you prefer mouse and keyboard, it may be worth waiting for that patch.

The studio also explained how to get the Prophecy Pack: it comes with the Feral Edition, and players who bought the base game can buy it separately. The post does not give a price.

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest PC requirements

The requirements have not changed. These are the ones on the Steam page:

Both tiers require DirectX 12. The game is Windows only, with no Mac or Linux version.

Which GPUs run it

The recommended GPU is steep for a 4 GB game. Here is how canirun sees it, with grades measured against the recommended:

• GTX 1060 6GB: clears the minimum but grades F. It launches, but it will struggle.
• RX 580: it appears in the Steam minimum, but in our comparison it falls just below it.
• RTX 4060: clears the minimum and grades C, just under the recommended. The RTX 3060 lands in the same spot.
• RTX 3070: meets the recommended with a B. For an A you need something like an RTX 5070.
