On October 23, Total Mayhem Games released patch 1.1.2 for We Were Here Tomorrow. For PC players, the key changes are two lines in the notes. Startup shader compilation is now quicker and lighter. The game also adds DirectX 11 as a launch option to expand compatibility. The patch also fixes game-breaking bugs, softlocks, crashes and shader issues. On October 21 we told you about the launch price and which GPUs clear the requirements. Here is what changes now.
What patch 1.1.2 fixes
According to the official notes on Steam, these are the changes you will notice most on PC:
- Shaders: startup compilation is quicker and lighter, and this patch needs no new shader warmup.
- DirectX 11: added as a launch option to expand compatibility. The Steam page still lists DirectX 12 in the requirements.
- Black screen: fixed the bug that left players stuck on a black screen while loading checkpoints.
- Missing world parts: parts of the world that did not load correctly now load properly. Before, reinstalling the game was the fix.
- Voice chat: fixed a bug where voice chat would stop working or fail to reconnect when the Vivox servers went offline.
The patch also fixes the walkie talkie disappearing, inventory items getting blocked when emoting or interacting, and several doors in chapters 1, 2 and 4 that would not open with high latency.
What to do if you had problems
First, make sure the game is updated to version 1.1.2. If parts of the world were not loading for you, the patch fixes the issue that used to require a reinstall. If your PC had compatibility problems, you can now launch the game with DirectX 11. The notes do not say when that option is the better choice. If the problem persists, the studio asks you to check its support page and Known Issues page before reporting it.
Requirements: the patch does not change them
The notes do not mention any change to the requirements, so the Steam page still reads:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB or equivalent | RTX 3060 or equivalent |
| CPU | Ryzen 5 3600 or equivalent | Ryzen 5 5600X or equivalent |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 25 GB | 25 GB |
| OS | Windows 11 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
Our grades are measured against the recommended requirement. An RTX 3060 or an RTX 4060 meets it with a B. The RTX 2060, RX 7600 and Arc B580 clear the minimum with a C, so they are tight. The RTX 3050 also clears the minimum, but it grades D and will struggle. The GTX 1660 Super, GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580 fall below the minimum.
On Steam Deck, Valve has not verified the game yet. Our spec-based estimate gives it an F, and you can see the details on its Steam Deck page.
