Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Capcom’s expansion, launched on October 9 and brought a lot of players back: there are 28,425 people playing on Steam right now. Whether you are returning or starting fresh, check where your graphics card lands against the game’s requirements before you head north to Norgan.

What Dark Arisen adds

These are the expansion contents that Capcom’s announcements detail:

  • The Forsaken Dominion: Norgan, a new story and region in the snowy north. It adds a loot-based relic expedition loop and new monsters. A side-quest chain unlocks the option to change the appearance of Norgan weapons and armor while keeping their stats.
  • The Lost Rites: 12 new dungeon challenges.

The expansion also brings new hairstyles and tattoos to the character creator for your Arisen and Main Pawn.

Separately, on September 16 Capcom announced that new Official Pawns are joining the lineup. On October 6 it announced more updates for the main game, including a Hard Mode.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC requirements

These are the requirements on the game’s Steam page today. The game is Windows only:

MinimumRecommended
GPUGTX 1660 or RX 5500 XT (8 GB VRAM)RTX 2070 Super or RX 6600 XT
CPUCore i5 8500 or Ryzen 5 3500Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 5 3600X
RAM16 GB16 GB
StorageSSD recommendedSSD recommended
OSWindows 11 64-bitWindows 11 64-bit

Read the fine print. The minimum targets 1080p at 45 to 60 fps and the recommended targets 1080p at 60 fps. Both assume an upscaler and “Prioritize Performance” selected in Graphics Quality. Capcom warns that frame rate may drop when the processing load is high. Ray tracing requires an RTX 2080 Ti or an RX 6800.

Which GPUs run it

canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM, which is exactly what the game asks for:

  • Below the minimum: the GTX 1650, the Radeon RX 580 and the GTX 1060 6GB.
  • Clear the minimum but tight: the RTX 3050 grades D (struggles) and the RTX 2060 grades C (tight). The RTX 3060 also lands at C: it gets in, with no headroom.
  • Meet the recommended: the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 4060 grade B.
  • Comfortable: the RTX 4070, RTX 5070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT grade A.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it and lists it as Unsupported. Our spec-based estimate puts the Deck below the minimum, with an F against the recommended, but it is only an estimate. There is more detail on the game’s Steam Deck page.
