Invokyr is out in Early Access: PC requirements and which GPUs run it

Invokyr, the co-op survival horror game about a cursed board game, is out in Early Access. Here are its PC requirements, which GPUs clear the minimum and the recommended, and where the Steam Deck stands.

Invokyr, Ludogram’s co-op survival horror game about a cursed board game, launched in Early Access on Steam on October 8. You play in a group of 6: roll the dice, survive the horrors that get summoned, and beat the Gamemaster to win your freedom. It costs $12.99 / €12.99 / £11.75 with a 25% launch discount (Steam lists it at $9.74), and it has 2,552 concurrent players right now. Good news for modest PCs: the minimum is a GTX 1650 and just 5 GB of storage. The thing to check before you buy is RAM: 16 GB even at minimum.

Invokyr PC requirements

These are the official requirements from the Steam page:

MinimumRecommended
GPUGTX 1650 or RX 580RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT
CPUCore i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600Core i5-11500 or Ryzen 5 5600X
RAM16 GB16 GB
Storage5 GB5 GB
OS64-bit Windows 1064-bit Windows 10

It uses DirectX 11 and needs a broadband connection. It is Windows only: there is no native Mac or Linux version.

Which GPUs run it

Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum. The difference is how close each one gets to the recommended. Grades are measured against the recommended requirement:

  • GTX 1650: it is the minimum GPU itself. It clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended, so expect it to struggle.
  • RX 580, GTX 1660 Super and RTX 3050: clear the minimum with a D. It runs, with little headroom.
  • RTX 2060 and Intel Arc B580: C, between the minimum and the recommended.
  • RTX 3060 and RTX 4060: B, they meet the recommended.
  • RTX 4070 and RX 9070 XT: A, well above the recommended.

One quirk: the RX 6600 XT is listed in the official recommended specs, but on our grading scale, by score, it grades C. It clears the minimum and falls just short of the recommended.

Watch your memory. Our grades assume 16 GB of RAM, which is exactly what the game asks for at both tiers. If your PC has less than 16 GB, you are below the minimum no matter how good your GPU is.

What about the Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate gives it an F and puts it below the minimum, but that is only an estimate from the requirements. You can follow it on the Invokyr Steam Deck page.

First Early Access patches

Early Access launches with four boards (Haunted Manor, Jungle, Icy Mountain and Desert), 15+ monsters, 20+ supernatural events and more than a dozen different dice. Ludogram has already shipped several patches:

  • V0.44.7 (October 8): downgraded the Steam SDK version to fix connection issues for some players and added a more helpful error message when Steam is out of date.
  • V0.44.8 (October 8): save system improvements.
  • V0.44.9 (October 9): new subtitle options, improved gamepad support and lobby browser fixes.

If you had trouble connecting with your group on launch day, it is worth updating.
