Scam With Your Friends is out: PC requirements, hotfixes and Steam Deck
Scam With Your Friends launched in Early Access on Steam and asks for little: a GTX 1060 6 GB and 3 GB of RAM. Here is which GPUs clear the minimum, what the first two patches fixed and where the Steam Deck stands.

Scam With Your Friends launched on Steam on October 15 in Early Access. The game comes from JakeHub and Metater. You and your friends run a scam call center, trick AI-driven callers out of their savings and try to survive a performance review from a rageaholic boss. It arrived with 600,000 wishlists, it is a top seller and it has 5,770 concurrent players right now. The good news for your PC is that it asks for very little. The less good news is that launch day brought AI and voice recognition problems, and two patches have already shipped in two days.
Scam With Your Friends PC requirements
These are the requirements from the Steam page. The studio only published a minimum tier:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1060 (6 GB) or RX 580 | Not listed |
| CPU | Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 | Not listed |
| RAM | 3 GB | Not listed |
| Storage | 5 GB | Not listed |
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 64-bit | 64-bit processor and OS |
It also needs DirectX 11 and a broadband internet connection. It is Windows only, with no Mac or Linux version.
Which GPUs run it?
With no official recommended tier, the minimum is the only reference. The GTX 1060 6GB is the card the minimum names, and it clears it. In our check, the GTX 1660 Super, RTX 2060, RTX 3050, RX 6600 XT, RX 7600 and Arc B580 clear the minimum too, as do the RTX 3060, RTX 4060, RTX 4070 and RX 9070 XT.
Two cards on our list fall below the minimum. The first is the RX 580, even though the official minimum lists it next to the GTX 1060. Our minimum bar is 9,500 points, the GTX 1060’s score, and the RX 580 scores 8,900. That does not mean the game won’t launch on it, and the studio lists it as supported, but it shows up below the minimum in our comparison, so check your full result on the game page before you buy.
The second is the GTX 1650, also below the minimum in our check. If that is your card, read the next section, because one of the patches names it directly.
What the first two patches fixed
In the launch post, the studio acknowledged the AI and voice recognition problems. It also gave one tip for anyone playing in a language other than English: let the Qwen3 TTS download finish on the main menu to get higher-quality text-to-speech.
Here is what changes for your PC:
- Hot Fixes (October 15): fixes speech startup crashes on some PCs, including GTX 1650 and RTX 4060 Ti systems. It also moves Qwen3 voice downloads to a dedicated server and fixes the bug where an incorrect PC clock blocked access to the AI.
- Hotfix 2 (October 16): prevents speech startup crashes on older Windows CPUs, and typed dialogue stays available as a fallback. It also reduces memory use when loading custom caller voices and adds a reminder that Qwen3 can be turned off if it runs too slow.
What about the Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate gives it an F and puts it below the minimum. That is only an estimate built from the requirements, not a test. You can see the details on the game’s Steam Deck page.
