In this guide 4
Transport Fever 3 launched on September 29 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and it already shows up on SteamDB’s global Steam top sellers list for the week of September 22 to 29, a week that ended on its launch day. It also holds an 84 on Metacritic and sits at around 14,765 concurrent players on Steam today. On September 29 we told you that it launched native on Mac and Linux, and why the CPU matters as much as the GPU. Now for what decides whether you enjoy it on Windows: how each popular graphics card grades against its requirements.
Transport Fever 3 PC requirements
These are the Windows requirements from the Steam page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1060, RX 480 or Arc A380 (4 GB VRAM) | RTX 3070, RX 6800 or Arc A770 (8 GB VRAM) |
| CPU | Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600X (AVX2 required) | Core i7-13700K or Ryzen 7 7800X3D (AVX2 required) |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 90 GB on SSD | 90 GB on SSD |
| OS | Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 | Windows 11 |
Two details are worth checking before you buy. Your processor must support AVX2, at both minimum and recommended. And an SSD is required in both tiers. The recommended spec also takes a big step up on the CPU side: it asks for a Core i7-13700K or a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. canirun’s grade is based on your GPU and RAM, so check your processor separately.
Which GPUs run it
We measure each GPU against the recommended requirement, with 16 GB of RAM:
- GeForce GTX 1650: falls short of the minimum. The same goes for the Radeon RX 580.
- GeForce GTX 1060 6GB: clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended. It launches, but it will struggle.
- GeForce RTX 3060: clears the minimum and grades C against the recommended. It sits between the two tiers, with little headroom.
- GeForce RTX 3070: it is the recommended card itself and grades B, so it meets the recommended spec.
On memory, 8 GB of RAM gets you to the minimum, and the recommended spec asks for 16 GB.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. canirun’s estimate is based on specs alone, not testing, and gives the Deck an F, below the minimum. Check the game’s Steam Deck page for the latest status.
