AION 2 launches October 5: PC requirements and which GPUs run it
AION 2, NCSOFT's free-to-play MMORPG on Unreal Engine 5, launches October 5 on PC only. Here are its requirements, which graphics cards clear the minimum and recommended, and what to expect on Steam Deck.

AION 2, NCSOFT’s free-to-play MMORPG, launches tomorrow, October 5, on PC only. Advanced Access ends with an 8-hour maintenance that starts October 4 at 22:00 PDT (October 5 at 07:00 CEST), and the commercial launch begins when it wraps up. There are servers for Europe, NA West, NA East, Latin America and Asia. Each server holds a single faction, and every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian one. Free does not mean light: it runs on Unreal Engine 5, and the Steam page itself asks for low presets at FHD.
AION 2 PC requirements
These are the official requirements from the Steam page:

Both tiers need DirectX 12 and a broadband connection. The detail that matters most is in the notes: at FHD, the page says to use the Very Low preset on minimum hardware and the Low preset on recommended hardware to ensure compatibility. In other words, the recommended spec does not promise high settings. And at 100 GB, plan on giving it room on an SSD, which is what NC suggests.
Which graphics cards run it
Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum. The difference is how they grade against the recommended requirement, which is what canirun’s grade measures (with 16 GB of RAM):
- RTX 3060 and RX 7600: clear the recommended and grade B, solid. See what else the RTX 3060 runs.
- RX 6600 XT: clears the minimum and grades C against the recommended, tight. Its page: RX 6600 XT.
- GTX 1650: clears the minimum, but grades F against the recommended. The game launches, but it will struggle. If that is your card, check which games sit comfortably on it.
RAM follows the same pattern: 8 GB covers the minimum, but the recommended asks for 16 GB.
What about Steam Deck, Mac or Linux?
AION 2 is Windows only: the Steam page lists no Mac or Linux version. Valve has not verified the game for Steam Deck yet. Our spec-based estimate gives it an F, and that is only an estimate from the requirements, not a Valve rating. You can follow the details on AION 2 on Steam Deck.
