Keen Games released Enshrouded Hotfix 1.0.0.2 on October 16. It is the second patch since 1.0 launched on October 15. If you play on an Nvidia card, this one matters: it fixes a rendering bug that made the game look like it was buried in a very dense grey fog. It also fixes several crashes and a problem with migrating old saves. That same day we covered what Hotfix 1.0.0.1 fixed, and the game is still going strong, with 93,685 concurrent players on Steam right now.
What Hotfix 1.0.0.2 fixes
The version number is 1269579. These are the main points from the official notes:
- Grey fog on Nvidia: the rendering bug that filled the screen with a dense grey fog is gone. Keen says it only appeared on Nvidia graphics cards, especially in the Hollow Halls.
- World settings: you can configure them again. The bug slipped in by accident with the previous hotfix, while Keen was fixing session lists in the multiplayer join menus.
- Save migration: fixes a rare crash when loading a corrupted character save. For now those characters will not be migrated, and Keen is working on a fix that recovers them. If a character is missing from your list, the official advice is to be patient.
- Factories: they no longer crash in rare cases when placed, and they show the correct menu when you interact with them.
- Fast travel and glider: fixes a crash when fast traveling or landing with a glider in worlds with a lot of entities, such as enemies and survivors.
- Localization: fixes text for several skill tree skills in several languages. More skill descriptions are coming in the next patch.
The migration fix matters if you played in Early Access. According to the launch FAQ, old saves work in 1.0 and are converted to a new, more efficient format. You also do not need to buy the game again.
Enshrouded PC requirements
The hotfix does not change the requirements. These come from the Steam page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1060, RX 580 (6 GB VRAM) or Arc A380 | RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT (6 GB VRAM) or Arc A770 |
| CPU | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 5 1500X | Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 2700X |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 60 GB | 60 GB (SSD recommended) |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
Which GPUs run it
It asks for 16 GB of RAM even at minimum, so check your memory before your graphics card. The grades below are measured against the recommended requirement:
- Clear the minimum but struggle (D): the GTX 1060 6GB, the GTX 1660 Super and the RTX 3050. The GTX 1650 falls short of the minimum. The RX 580 is named in the official minimum, but it lands below it in our data.
- Tight (C): the RTX 2060, the RTX 3060, the RX 7600 and the Arc B580 clear the minimum and sit just under the recommended.
- Solid (B) or smooth (A): the RTX 3060 Ti, the RTX 4060 and the RTX 3070 meet the recommended. The RTX 4070, the RTX 5070 and the RX 9070 XT clear it with room to spare.
On Steam Deck, Valve rates it Unsupported and has not verified it. Our estimate, based only on specs, gives it an F, below the minimum. The details are on the Enshrouded Steam Deck page.
