Keen Games released Enshrouded Hotfix 1.0.0.3 on October 21, the third hotfix since 1.0 launched. It matters most if you play on an AMD graphics card with V-Sync on: according to the official notes, the patch improves a stuttering issue with that setup. It also fixes several crashes, light flickering in very large bases and an endless black screen that hit some players when loading a multiplayer game. On October 17 we told you that Hotfix 1.0.0.2 fixed the grey fog bug on Nvidia cards. This time the graphics fix is for AMD.
What Hotfix 1.0.0.3 fixes
The version is 1273043. These are the changes that matter most for how the game runs on PC:
- AMD V-Sync stutter: the notes say the issue is improved, not fully solved.
- Crashes: several tied to the water simulation and several when leaving the game. It also fixes other randomly occurring crashes, one when interacting with factories and one when unlocking recipes with a filter active on the recipe list.
- Endless black screen: some players hit it when loading a multiplayer game.
- Light flickering: it showed up in very large player bases.
There are also changes to the migration of Early Access saves. A rare crash during the process is fixed. Characters with invalid entries in the additional backpack slots now migrate correctly, though without the items that used to stop the process.
What to do
The fixes come with the hotfix, so the first step is making sure your game is up to date. The notes give two more pointers:
- Early Access rewards: if yours were missing, you can now redeem them from the pause menu.
- Misplaced Flame Altar: if it was not placed in the voxel grid, the migration now corrects its position. The water in that base can’t be loaded, so you will need to add it again where you need it.
For the AMD V-Sync stutter, the studio gives no step other than installing the hotfix.
Enshrouded PC requirements
The Windows requirements don’t change with this patch:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1060, RX 580 (6 GB VRAM) or Arc A380 | RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT (6 GB VRAM) or Arc A770 |
| CPU | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 5 1500X | Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 2700X |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 60 GB | 60 GB (SSD recommended) |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
On the AMD side, the RX 6600 XT and the RX 7600 clear the minimum and grade C against the recommended: they run it, but it’s tight. The RX 9070 XT clears the recommended with an A. The RX 580 is listed in the official minimum, but in our benchmark data it falls just short of it.
On Nvidia, the RTX 4060 and the RTX 3060 Ti meet the recommended with a B. The GTX 1060 6GB clears the minimum but grades D against the recommended, so expect it to struggle.
