Farming Simulator 25 got Free Content Update #7 and patch 1.24 on September 29. The update adds four free machines, brings the SOLÀ brand into the series for the first time and fixes several issues. At the same time, GIANTS Software has been previewing Beans & Alpacas, the expansion that adds coffee, bananas and alpacas in the Catuaí region. The game came out on November 12, 2024, and has 22,745 concurrent players on Steam as of this writing. If you’re coming back now or trying it for the first time, it’s worth checking whether your PC is up to it.

Farming Simulator 25 PC requirements

These are the official Windows requirements from the Steam store page:

MinimumRecommended
GPUGTX 1050 Ti or RX 470 (min 3 GB VRAM, DX12)RTX 2070, RX 5700 XT or Arc A750 (min 8 GB VRAM, DX12)
CPUCore i5-6400 or Ryzen 5 1400Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3800X
RAM8 GB12 GB
Storage50 GB50 GB
OSWindows 10 64-bitWindows 10 64-bit

The gap between minimum and recommended is wide, especially in VRAM: from 3 GB to 8 GB. For reference, on our scale Farming Simulator 22’s recommended GPU scores 9,500, while Farming Simulator 25’s reaches 16,200.

Which graphics cards run it

Every popular card we checked clears the minimum. The difference is how each one grades against the recommended requirement, always assuming 16 GB of RAM:

  • GeForce GTX 1650: clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended. The game launches, but expect to turn quality down a lot.
  • GeForce RTX 2060: clears the minimum and grades C against the recommended. It sits between the two tiers, so headroom is tight.
  • GeForce RTX 3060 and Radeon RX 7600: meet the recommended and grade B. This is where the game runs the way GIANTS intended.

One heads-up from the patch 1.24 notes: as with every major update, you may see stuttering on the first launch after updating, especially with mods or custom graphics settings, because shaders are being recompiled. That’s not your hardware, and it goes away after that first launch.

What about Mac, Linux and Steam Deck?

Farming Simulator 25 has a native Mac version. The minimum asks for macOS 11.3 or newer, a Core i5-6400 or Apple M1, 8 GB of RAM and a Radeon RX 470 or Apple M1. The recommended steps up to an Apple M1 Pro with 16 GB of RAM. If you want more options for your Mac, check our list of Mac games.

On Linux, Steam doesn’t offer a native version of the game.

On Steam Deck, Valve rates it Playable. On our scale, though, the Deck doesn’t clear the PC minimum on paper and grades F against the recommended. Valve’s rating means it runs, just with very little headroom. The full breakdown is on the game’s Steam Deck page.

Can your PC run Farming Simulator 25?
