Beans & Alpacas, the Farming Simulator 25 expansion, has been available on PC and consoles since October 27, and Steam shows it: the game has 47,174 concurrent players right now. On October 23 we told you that patch 1.25 was arriving and that the expansion would land on October 27. Now that you can play it, here is what the launch announcement confirms and whether your PC can handle it. If you own the Year 2 Season Pass, the expansion is already included.
What Beans & Alpacas brings
On October 17 we went over the official previews of Catuaí, with its coffee, bananas and alpacas. The launch announcement confirms what you find once you’re in:
- A map inspired by Brazil: rolling hills, coffee plantations, tropical vegetation, red soil, a river winding through the region, a rural village and new production facilities.
- Warm climate: dry and rainy seasons replace snowy winters, and ground and building surfaces change when the rain starts falling.
- More than farming: parrots and caimans, hidden dinosaur bones for the local museum and a research station in the rainforest.
Farming Simulator 25 PC requirements
Beans & Alpacas runs on top of Farming Simulator 25. These are the Windows requirements from the game’s Steam page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1050 Ti or RX 470 (3 GB VRAM, DX12) | RTX 2070, RX 5700 XT or Arc A750 (8 GB VRAM, DX12) |
| CPU | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 5 1400 | Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3800X |
| RAM | 8 GB | 12 GB |
| Storage | 50 GB | 50 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
Both tiers require DirectX 12, so your graphics card needs to support it.
Which graphics cards handle it
Every popular card we checked clears the minimum. The difference is in the grade, which is measured against the recommended requirement and assumes 16 GB of RAM:
- GTX 1650: clears the minimum but grades F against the recommended. It launches, though it will struggle.
- RTX 2060: clears the minimum and grades C, tight, between the minimum and the recommended.
- RTX 3060: meets the recommended with a B.
- RTX 4070: has room to spare, with an A against the recommended.
What about Steam Deck and Mac?
Valve tested the game and rates it Playable on Steam Deck. You can find the details on its Steam Deck page.
There is also a Mac version. The minimum asks for macOS 11.3 or newer, an Apple M1 or a Radeon RX 470, and 8 GB of RAM. The recommended steps up to an Apple M1 Pro with 16 GB. If you play on a Mac, see what else runs on macOS.
Can your PC run Farming Simulator 25?
Here is how your setup grades against Farming Simulator 25 and Farming Simulator 22, the previous entry:
