ATMOSFAR PC requirements: Early Access launches today with an RTX 2070 minimum

ATMOSFAR enters Steam Early Access today with steep specs: RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT minimum, RTX 4070 or RX 7800 XT recommended. Here is which GPUs clear them, the price, and what to expect on Steam Deck.

ATMOSFAR, the co-op survival game from Apog Labs and Shueisha Games, enters Early Access on Steam today, October 29, at 17:00 CET. It costs $24.99 (£22.49, €25.49), with a 10% discount for the first two weeks, until November 12. The studio says the price will go up slightly at 1.0, and day one includes two of the game’s three major regions. The part that matters on PC: for an indie game about floating islands, it asks for a lot of hardware, even at minimum.

Minimum lists DirectX 11 and recommended lists DirectX 12. It is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version. Multiplayer needs an internet connection, and up to four players can share a session.

Which GPUs make the cut

The bar is high, and several very common cards are left out:

  • Below the minimum: the GTX 1660 Super, RTX 3050, RX 6600 XT and Arc B580. The RTX 2060 lands just under the minimum.
  • Clear the minimum but struggle: the RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 4060 and RX 7600 grade D, measured against the recommended. The RTX 3070 grades C, a tight fit.
  • Meet the recommended: the RTX 4070, RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT grade B. The RTX 5080 reaches A, smooth.

Watch the recommended CPU too: a Core i7-14700K or Ryzen 7 7800X3D are high-end chips, so check your processor and not just your graphics card.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate puts the Deck at F, below the minimum, so do not count on a good experience there for now. You can follow its status on the ATMOSFAR Steam Deck page.
