In this guide 5
On October 17 we told you that SCS Software had shown the first Iceland gameplay for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Now the map DLC has a date: on October 24 the studio confirmed it releases on November 10, 2026, and released the official trailer. On October 26 it also showed some of the viewpoints you will find on the island. The game has 44,348 concurrent players on Steam right now, so it is a good time to check whether your PC is ready.
What is new about Iceland
According to SCS’s announcements, the DLC adds:
- 14 cities and settlements, including Reykjavík and Akureyri.
- The Ring Road, which links urban areas, quiet settlements, rugged coastlines and remote corners of the island.
- Viewpoints: you drive up, activate the trigger and a cutscene tours the area. SCS previewed the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which drops around 60 metres right next to the Ring Road, and the Blue Lagoon on the Reykjanes Peninsula.
The trailer is on the studio’s YouTube channel. Separately from Iceland, on October 21 SCS showed Edinburgh as part of its UK Rework project, with Princes Street, the Scott Monument and the castle on Castle Rock.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 PC requirements
These are the base game’s Windows requirements currently listed on the Steam page. The Iceland announcements we reviewed do not mention separate requirements for the DLC, so this is the reference:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 660, RX 460 or Intel HD 630 (2 GB VRAM) | GTX 1660 or RX 590 (2 GB VRAM) |
| CPU | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 3 1200 | Core i5-9600 or Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 8 GB | 12 GB |
| Storage | 25 GB | 25 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
The store page notes that the 25 GB figure covers the base game.
Which graphics cards run it
Every popular card we checked clears the minimum. The difference shows up against the recommended, and the grades are measured against that requirement:
- GTX 1650: clears the minimum but grades D (Struggles) against the recommended.
- GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: clear the minimum and grade C (Tight).
- GTX 1660 Super, RTX 3050 and Arc B580: meet the recommended with a B.
- RTX 3060 and RX 7600: move up to A (Smooth), and an RTX 4070 lands at S (Overkill).
If you play on Mac or Linux, the game is available there too. On Linux, SCS recommends recent binary ATI or NVIDIA drivers, since MESA may not work reliably. You can find more options in Mac games and Linux games.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve tested it and rates it Verified. You can see the details on its Steam Deck page.
