PUBG hits 553,582 players on Steam: PC requirements and which GPUs run it

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is free and has 553,582 concurrent players on Steam. Here are its PC requirements, which graphics cards clear the minimum and the recommended according to canirun, and what happens on Steam Deck.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has 553,582 concurrent players on Steam right now, and the weekend adds another reason to jump in. From October 2 to October 4, the regional finals of the PUBG EMEA Championship and the PUBG Americas Series are on, with twice the usual amount of Twitch and Kick drops. Since the game is free, the only real question is whether your PC can handle it.

This is the final weekend of regional play on this year’s PUBG esports calendar, ahead of the PUBG Global Championship 2026 in Istanbul in November. Watch 120 minutes of a PEC or PAS stream and you unlock all of that day’s rewards, which change every day.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS PC requirements

These are the requirements from the Steam store page:

Both tiers call for DirectX 11 and a broadband internet connection. PUBG is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version on Steam.

Which graphics cards run it

Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum. The difference is how they grade against the recommended requirement:

  • GeForce GTX 1650 and Radeon RX 580: both clear the minimum and grade C (Tight) against the recommended. It runs, with little headroom. A note on the RX 580: Steam names it in the recommended specs, but on our benchmark scale it falls short of that requirement.
  • GeForce GTX 1060 6GB: meets the recommended, grade B (Solid).
  • GeForce RTX 3060: grade A (Smooth), well above the recommended.

Grades assume 16 GB of RAM, which is what the recommended asks for. With 8 GB you meet the minimum memory requirement but not the recommended one.

What about Steam Deck?
