Fangtopia is out on PC: minimum requirements and whether your rig runs it

Fangtopia launched on Steam on October 26 with a 10% launch discount. It is a cozy tile-laying puzzle game: you build landscapes, raise landmarks and find homes for friendly monsters, with no scares and no time pressure. Absolutely Games develops it and Secret Mode publishes it, and it arrived during Scream Fest, Steam’s showcase of spooky games. If you play on PC, the good news is that it asks for so little that your machine very likely runs it without trouble.

Fangtopia PC requirements

These are the requirements from the Steam page. The studio only published the minimum:

It is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version on Steam.

Which GPUs run it?

Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum, from the most modest to the newest. A GTX 1650, an RX 580 or a GTX 1060 6GB already qualifies, and so does an RTX 3050, an Arc B580 or any newer RTX card.

Since Steam lists no recommended requirement, there is no higher bar to measure against: the minimum is the only official data point, and these cards clear it easily. What about Steam Deck?

Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate says the Deck clears the minimum and would earn an A, but that is only an estimate built from the requirements, not a real-world test. You can follow the details on Fangtopia’s Steam Deck page.

What the game offers

It has three modes: Fangtopia, for short, restful sessions; Ghoulish, for bigger worlds with more tile types; and Island, where you connect archipelagos with railway tracks for the Ghost Train. It also has global and friends leaderboards, a sticker book and an ASMR audio mode. Steam also sells the Supporter Pack DLC for 4,99€.
