EA SPORTS FC 27 jumps from 16,131 to 51,774 players on Steam: can your PC run it?

EA SPORTS FC 27 went from 16,131 to 51,774 concurrent players on Steam in our tracking. Here are the requirements, which GPUs clear the minimum and recommended on canirun, where Steam Deck stands, and what UEFA Road to the Knockouts is.

EA SPORTS FC 27 is filling up again on Steam. In our tracking, concurrent players went from 16,131 to 51,774, and right now 52,394 are online. We do not know what drove the jump, but there is context: EA posted an announcement today, November 6, about UEFA Road to the Knockouts in Football Ultimate Team, and the game keeps showing up among Steam’s top sellers. If you are coming back or jumping in for the first time, the question is the same as always: can your PC handle it? On October 1 we told you which GPUs run FC 27 and why it does not run on Steam Deck. Here is a refresher with today’s data.

What UEFA Road to the Knockouts is

It is a Football Ultimate Team promo built on live upgrades. In EA’s words: “Every goal, every point, and every league position carries Europe’s elite closer to silverware, driving live upgrades for UEFA Road to the Knockouts Player Items in Football Ultimate Team™.”

The game had not dropped off the charts either. It shows up in SteamDB’s Steam Global Top Sellers lists for the weeks of October 13 to 20, October 20 to 27 and October 27 to November 3. On Steam it costs $69.99 with no discount.

EA SPORTS FC 27 PC requirements

These are the official requirements from the Steam store page:

Both tiers ask for DirectX 12 and a broadband connection. EA estimates the minimum delivers 1280x720 at 60 FPS on the Low preset, and the recommended 1920x1080 at 60 FPS on Medium. Mind your drive: at the recommended tier the SSD is no longer optional.

Which GPUs run it

Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum. The difference is how they grade against the recommended requirement:

  • GTX 1650, GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: clear the minimum but grade D (Struggles) against the recommended. Playable, with little headroom. See what else the GTX 1650 runs.
  • GTX 1660 Super and RTX 3050: grade C (Tight), between minimum and recommended. More on the RTX 3050 page.
  • RTX 2060, RX 6600 XT, RX 7600 and Arc B580: clear the recommended with a B (Solid).
  • RTX 3060 and RTX 4060: reach an A (Smooth) against the recommended. The RTX 3060 is a good reference point.

These grades assume 16 GB of RAM.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve rates it Unsupported. Based on specs alone, our estimate is an F, and that is all it is: a spec-based estimate, not a test on the device. The details are on the FC 27 Steam Deck page.
