Phantom Blade Zero, S-GAME’s wuxia action game built on Unreal Engine 5, launches October 28 on PC, and NVIDIA confirmed today how it arrives on GeForce RTX: with DLSS 4.5, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and PC-exclusive path-traced lighting. If you’re eyeing the preorder, which is $59.99 on Steam, the part worth checking is the baseline: even the minimum asks for 16 GB of RAM and an SSD, and the recommended spec points to an RTX 3060 Ti.
What NVIDIA announced for launch
According to NVIDIA’s October 21 post, the game ships with a full suite of DLSS 4.5 technologies:
- DLSS 4.5 with Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to accelerate the game on GeForce RTX.
- PC-exclusive path tracing: the path-traced lighting and effects are refined and enhanced by DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
- New driver: for the best experience at launch, NVIDIA recommends downloading and installing its new GeForce Game Ready Driver.
You play as Soul, a swordsman framed for murdering his master, gravely wounded in the heart and left with just sixty-six days to live. There are over thirty primary weapons and more than twenty Phantom Edges to mix and match. Preorders are open on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements
These are the requirements from the Steam store page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GTX 1660 6 GB or RX 5500 XT 8 GB | RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB |
| CPU | Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600 | Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | SSD required | SSD required |
| OS | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit |
Read the notes carefully: the minimum targets 1080p at 30 FPS with upscaling enabled, and the recommended targets 1440p at 60 FPS, also with upscaling. It requires DirectX 12, and Steam doesn’t list the install size yet. It’s Windows only.
Which graphics cards run it
canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM, which is exactly what the game asks for:
- RTX 3060 Ti: meets the recommended spec and grades B, Solid.
- RTX 4060: clears the minimum and grades C, Tight, against the recommended.
- RTX 2060: clears the minimum, but at D against the recommended it will struggle.
- GTX 1060 6 GB: falls short of the minimum.
Keep in mind that both FPS targets on the store page assume upscaling is enabled, without saying which upscaler, so don’t expect those numbers at native resolution. On GeForce RTX cards, NVIDIA confirms DLSS 4.5 for this game.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve hasn’t verified it yet. Our estimate, based only on the specs, puts it at F, below the minimum, so it’s worth waiting for the official rating before buying it for the Deck.
