Underkeep is out today: PC requirements, which GPUs run it and Steam Deck

Underkeep, Rake in Grass's turn-based dungeon crawler, launches today, November 5, on Steam and GOG. It asks for very little: 64-bit Windows and an OpenGL 3.2 compatible GPU. Here is which GPUs run it and how it does on Steam Deck.

Underkeep is a role-playing dungeon crawler with tactical, turn-based combat from Rake in Grass, and it launches today, November 5, on Steam and GOG. The studio says it has been in development for five years. The good news for PC players is that it asks for almost nothing: the Steam page only requires a 64-bit system and an OpenGL 3.2 compatible graphics card.

The studio added a few features in the last weeks before launch. You can now place your own notes on the minimap, and the intro and outro have professional voice-over narration. The game ships in English and five additional languages, though the studio warns that some translations are still being polished and may have errors.

Underkeep PC requirements

These are the requirements from the Steam page. The studio does not list a specific processor, RAM or storage:

MinimumRecommended
GPUOpenGL 3.2 compatibleNot specified
CPU64-bit processor64-bit processor
RAMNot specifiedNot specified
StorageNot specifiedNot specified
OSWindows 7/8/10 or higher (64-bit)64-bit operating system

It is Windows only: Steam does not list a Mac or Linux version.

Which GPUs run it?

Every GPU on our list clears the minimum. That covers everything from a GTX 1650 or a Radeon RX 580 up to an RTX 4060 or an Arc B580. Steam’s recommended section does not name a graphics card, so there is no higher bar to measure them against. If your card supports OpenGL 3.2, you meet what the studio asks for.

What is missing is RAM and storage. Without those numbers we can’t tell you how much memory or disk space you will need. If your PC is on the modest side and you want more options, browse our games for low-end PCs.

What about Steam Deck?

Valve tested it on Steam Deck and rates it Playable. You can see the details on the Underkeep Steam Deck page.
