Airframe Ultra launches November 5: PC requirements and which GPUs run it
Airframe Ultra hits Steam on November 5 and asks for very little: a GTX 650 and 6 GB of RAM minimum, a GTX 1050 Ti and 8 GB recommended, and 1 GB of storage. Here is which GPUs run it, the launch price and what to expect on Steam Deck.
In this guide 5
Airframe Ultra, the battle-racer from Videocult and Akupara Games, launches on Steam on November 5. Akupara confirmed it will cost $12.99, with 25% off for the first 14 days, so it comes to $9.74 at launch. The good news for your PC is that it asks for very little: a GTX 650 and 6 GB of RAM minimum, a GTX 1050 Ti and 8 GB recommended, and just 1 GB of disk space.
Airframe Ultra PC requirements
These are the official requirements from the Steam page:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GeForce GTX 650 (1 GB), Radeon HD 7750 (1 GB) or Intel HD Graphics 630 | GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) or Radeon RX 560 (4 GB) |
| CPU | Core i3-3220 or AMD FX-4300 | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 3 1200 |
| RAM | 6 GB | 8 GB |
| Storage | 1 GB | 1 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 or 11 64-bit |
Both tiers list DirectX 11 and a broadband internet connection, and the studio highly recommends a gamepad for better steering control. It is Windows only: the store page lists no Mac or Linux version.
Which GPUs run it
Short answer: nearly all of them. Every GPU on our list clears both the minimum and the recommended spec. Grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM:
- GTX 1650: meets the recommended spec with a B (Solid). It is the tightest card on the list and still matches the recommended spec.
- GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: an A (Smooth), with headroom over the recommended spec.
- RTX 3050, RTX 2060, RX 6600 XT, Arc B580 and up: an S (Overkill). With one of these you have plenty of headroom over the recommended spec.
To see what else your card runs, check the GTX 1650, RX 580 or RTX 3050 pages. If your rig is even more modest, games for low-end PCs has more options. Before you buy, the Steam page also offers a demo you can try on your own hardware.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate says the Deck clears the minimum and grades it a D against the recommended spec: it should run, but with little headroom. The details are on Airframe Ultra on Steam Deck.
Launch week and what comes next
From November 5 through November 12, Akupara is running Eight Days to Infamy: a new challenge each day (fan art, fan fiction, cosplay, combat clips, racing clips, outfits and a wildcard day), each with a one-of-a-kind prize, and a livestream on November 12 to announce the winners. Videocult, for its part, said this 1.0 release focuses on the fundamentals, and that once the launch bugs are sorted it plans to roll out new content every quarter or so. The game has online and split-screen multiplayer.
