Terrible Lizards, the first-person horror parkour game from WDR Studios, launches today, October 29, on Steam, published by Digital Pajamas and Behaviour Interactive. You have to escape Dalton’s Dinos, a Route 66 dinosaur attraction in 1992, while creatures hunt you down, with no weapons: just running, climbing and sliding. It arrives with over 100,000 wishlists and a demo plenty of people have already played. For your PC, the key is the gap between minimum and recommended: the first asks for a GTX 1050 2GB, the second for an RTX 2080.
Terrible Lizards PC requirements
These are the official requirements from the Steam page. The game is Windows only.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GeForce GTX 1050 2GB or Radeon RX 560 2GB | GeForce RTX 2080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT |
| CPU | Core i5-6400 or Ryzen 3 1200 | Core i3-10100F or Ryzen 3 3100 |
| RAM | 6 GB | 12 GB |
| Storage | 25 GB | 25 GB |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
The minimum calls for DirectX 11 and the recommended for DirectX 12. Between the two tiers, the biggest change is the graphics card, and RAM goes from 6 to 12 GB.
Which GPUs run it
Every popular card we checked clears the minimum, even a GTX 1650 or an RX 580. The difference shows up against the recommended requirement, which is what the canirun grade measures (with 16 GB of RAM):
- RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 4060 meet the recommended, with a B.
- RTX 4070, RTX 5070 and RX 9070 XT sit above it, with an A.
- RTX 3060, RX 7600 and Arc B580 land between minimum and recommended, with a C: they run it, with less headroom.
- GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 1660 Super and RTX 3050 grade D, and the GTX 1650 and RX 580 grade F: they clear the minimum but will struggle.
If your card is near the line, see what else the RTX 3060, the RTX 4060 or the GTX 1650 can run.
Watch out if your GPU has 4 GB of VRAM or less
During the demo, the studio said it had seen crash reports, especially on graphics cards with 4 GB or less of VRAM. It offered two workarounds: launching the game with the DX11 launch option, which helped in some cases, and a new ‘Terrible’ lighting setting. Later, demo version 0.9.76 added optimizations aimed at lower graphics settings. These notes come from the demo and do not confirm how the final release behaves. Still, if your card is in that range, those two options are the first things to try.
What about Steam Deck?
Valve has not rated Terrible Lizards for Steam Deck yet. Our estimate, based only on the specs, gives it an F and puts it below the minimum, so it is worth waiting for Valve’s verdict. You can follow it on the game’s Steam Deck page or check which games run well on the Deck.
