The Wolf Among Us Remastered is out on PC: your choices carry into the sequel
The Wolf Among Us Remastered is out on Steam, and your choices carry into The Wolf Among Us 2. Here is what it adds, what it costs, the PC requirements, which GPUs run it and how the Steam Deck fares.
In this guide 5
The Wolf Among Us Remastered launched yesterday, October 29, on Steam, and Telltale used its launch announcement to confirm something anyone waiting for the sequel will care about: the defining choices you make in the Remastered carry forward into The Wolf Among Us 2. To make that happen, you need to sign in to your Telltale Account while you play. The Steam page lists it at $19.99, 20% off the $24.99 price, and at the time of writing it has 1,278 concurrent players.
What the Remastered adds
According to Telltale, the game reworks the environments, character fidelity, lighting, animations and audio. It also adds content the original never had:
- Five playable Deleted Scenes, restored from the original episodes that never made the final release, available as special features.
- An optional Noir Mode that lets you play the whole adventure in cinematic black and white.
- A gallery with more than 100 pieces of artwork and over an hour of exclusive developer interviews.
Telltale also announced launch discounts of up to 50% off through November 12.
The Wolf Among Us Remastered PC requirements
On October 28 we told you which GPUs could run it ahead of launch, and the Steam requirements are unchanged now that it is out:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| GPU | GeForce GTX 470 or Radeon HD 5870 (1 GB) | GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 6400 (4 GB) |
| CPU | Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Phenom II X4 910 | Core i3-8100 or Ryzen 3 2300X |
| RAM | 8 GB | 8 GB |
| Storage | Not listed | Not listed |
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
The minimum targets 1080p at 30 fps on Low; the recommended targets 1080p at 60 fps on High. Steam does not list the install size, and the game is Windows only: there is no Mac or Linux version.
Which GPUs run it
It asks for very little: every popular card we checked clears both the minimum and the recommended. Grades are measured against the recommended requirement, with 16 GB of RAM:
- GTX 1650: B, solid, it meets the recommended.
- GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580: A, smooth.
- RTX 3060: S, overkill.
If your card has a few years on it, this is one of the new releases that will not push you to upgrade.
What about the Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. On specs, the Deck clears the minimum, and our estimate puts it at D against the recommended: it should run, with little headroom. That is a spec-based estimate, not a test. You can follow the details on the game’s Steam Deck page.
Can your PC run The Wolf Among Us Remastered?
Here is how your rig grades against the Remastered and against the original game:
| Game | Rec. GPU score | Rec. RAM | Min. RAM | Your PC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | 6,350 | 8 GB | 8 GB | ? |
| | 2,500 | 4 GB | 3 GB | ? |
