Virtue and a Sledgehammer, the narrative game from Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour published by Devolver Digital, launches tomorrow, October 27, on Steam, for Windows only. You return to your hometown, now haunted by the android ghosts of your digitized neighbors, and carve your own path by knocking structures down with a sledgehammer. The good news for your PC is that it asks for little: a GTX 960 or an RX 570 meets the minimum, and the game takes just 3 GB.

Which GPUs run it
Every popular GPU we checked clears the minimum, so the real question is whether you reach the recommended. canirun grades are measured against the recommended requirement and assume 16 GB of RAM:
- GTX 1060 6GB: clears the minimum but grades D (Struggles) against the recommended. The GTX 1650 and RX 580 land in the same spot. You can play, just with less headroom.
- GTX 1660 Super: grades C (Tight). It sits between the minimum and the recommended, as does the RTX 3050.
- RTX 2060: meets the recommended with a B (Solid). The RX 7600 gets the same grade, as do the RX 6600 XT, RTX 3060 and Arc B580.
From the RTX 4060 up, grades move to A or S. With 8 GB of RAM you meet the minimum. For the recommended you need 16 GB.
What about the Steam Deck?
Valve has not verified it yet. Our spec-based estimate gives the Deck an F and puts it below the minimum. That is a paper estimate, not a real-world test. You can follow it on the game’s Steam Deck page.
Try it before launch
The Steam page offers a downloadable demo, which is the most direct way to see how the game runs on your machine. On October 22, the studios also released Virtue: Prologue for free. It is a short interactive fiction by Juno Menager that sets up the game and covers what happened before the car crash that opens the story. It is available at Pantaloon’s Playbill.
